The Going to the Sun Road runs between East Glacier and West Glacier, climbing as it heads East. It provides access to several trailheads, as well as some lovely views of the surrounding mountains. The road was under construction in several places during my visit, and closed down to one lane.

Running Eagle Falls is named for a native woman who used the location for reflection and contemplation. The trail is only about 3/10 of a mile long.

The Trail of the Cedars runs through a stand of massive old-growth cedars. It is a circle trail of about one mile, but was partially closed for repairs during my visit, necessitating two trips.

And then, there they are - mountain goats balancing on the side of a hill.

"Hidden Lake" isn't hidden very well - I mean, there is a sign and everything. However, it is nestled away behind some of the smaller mountains. There is a 1 1/2 mile hike to an overlook area, then a further 1 1/2 miles almost straight down to the lake itself. I didn't go all the way down, since I wasn't fishing the lake.

I really like this view with the trees around it.

Sunrift Gorge is just a stop by the side of the road and a short hike to a river that has carved its way right into the side of a hill.

St. Mary's Lake is toward the West end of Going to the Sun road. Also, just past the lake is Baring Falls.
