Most of the road looks like this:

I think this is Wisconsin:

My ever-trusty steed:

Minnesota has these massive fields of sunflowers that I tried to capture from the Interstate.

Minnesota also has some nice lakes.

Keep in mind, the road just goes on and on.

North Dakota has some lovely lakes and some crazy clouds.

There are some hills that look a lot like the Badlands too.

And the road continues...

Here are some lovely hills and a cloud of smoke of unknown origin...or is that just a bug splattered on the windshield?

And more rocky hills.

This is definitely the Great Plains. See the scrubby, fire-prone plants.

And the view in the distance is just grand.

I like this one, it's kind of arty, with this lone tree at the top of the hill.

Now this looks like Eastern Montana.

But there are still some trees.

Definitely Montana. See how flat it is.

But it's not without any interest.

Then again...

Ah, sunset on the road.

Day two on the road draws to a close. 1500 miles later.

My stay at the Park begins at the Two Medicine camping area. Arriving after dark, I have self-register for park entry and camping - which it turns out is a real pain to locate. Fortunately one of the other campers is helpful enough to point me in the right direction. I stretch out in the back of the car, looking forward to exploring the Park tomorrow.
