After Kalispell, I headed North to Eureka. My dear friend and awfully talented singer that I used to play with in Smokehouse, Niki, told me to look up her cousin if I happened to be in Eureka. And sure enough, there he was. Kyle and his lovely wife Melanie made me feel right at home.
I heard there was a famous bakery back in Polebridge, so Friday morning I set out along a county road for a 25-mile drive to the General Store.


I drove through a burn area from about 2003. Much of the ground cover is growing again, but the trees are still black.
